The Paris Bookstore That Inspired My Book Store Candle

In 2013, I was traveling through Paris—wandering slowly, soaking in the city the way you only can when you have nowhere to be. The streets were alive with movement, conversation, and color when suddenly the sky opened up and rain began pouring down.
I didn’t have an umbrella.
So I ran into the nearest open door.

It turned out to be a tiny, old used bookstore—dark, quiet, and overflowing with leather-bound books and worn, yellowed pages. The kind of place where time seems to stop. Even though I couldn’t read the language, I stayed for hours. Touching the books. Breathing in the scent of paper, leather, and history. Letting my senses take over.
That memory stayed with me.
Years later, when creating Book Store, I wanted to capture that exact feeling—the comfort of being tucked away from the world, surrounded by stories you haven’t read yet but somehow already understand.
This candle is warm, nostalgic, and quietly grounding. It’s for readers, writers, and anyone who loves cozy spaces that feel timeless.
A love letter to old bookstores.
A tribute to a rainy Paris afternoon.
A scent you don’t forget.
