There’s something spellbinding about the scent of old books.
It’s not just about paper and ink—it’s the way a musty, time-worn page can transport you. The way leather covers cradle stories, secrets, and memories. It’s a smell that lingers in the soul long after you’ve left the room.
Our Book Store candle is an homage to that exact feeling—rich, warm, nostalgic, and just a little bit mysterious.

The Story Behind the Scent
In my twenties, I took a trip to Paris. It was one of those days when the city feels like a dream: gray skies, cobblestone streets slick with rain, the scent of coffee and fresh bread drifting from little cafés.
As the rain picked up, I ducked into a tiny used bookshop tucked away on a quiet street. It was dimly lit and a little cluttered, but it felt like stepping into a world outside of time. Books were stacked high on uneven shelves and spilling across old wooden tables. I couldn’t read a word of French, but that didn’t matter.
I stayed for what felt like hours, running my fingers across cracked spines and worn pages. I soaked in the scent of paper, leather, dust, and time. It was intoxicating—one of those perfect, fleeting moments you don’t forget.

When I created the Book Store candle, that memory came rushing back. I blended warm, earthy notes of aged leather, dry cedarwood, tobacco leaf, lavender & a hint of vetiver—meant to evoke the scent of timeworn pages and the comfort of being tucked away in a quiet corner of the world, lost in a story.
