Hippie's Homemade Candles - Est 2013

My name is Krista, and I'm the creator of Hippie's Homemade Candles.

I started this company in my kitchen back in 2013, at first I was making them just for myself. I have asthma and I used to burn a ton of candles during my time as a massage therapist.

I became determined to learn how to make my own candles that would be safer for me to use and still smell great. I did a lot of research and eventually came up with my own candle recipe.

My candles are as natural as they can get, without losing the strong scent that we all crave in a good candle. I use high quality, botanical based, phthalate free oils and 100% soy wax.

I hand blend my oils in order to make unique fragrances and offer a wide variety of scents for you to chose from.
I'm sure you will find something that you'll love!!!

People always ask me about the name of my company, and I'm always happy to share!  Clearly I'm too young to claim to be a "Hippie" and I also may not look the part, but its meaning is much deeper actually.

Here is the story behind the name.....

My oldest brother James, nicknamed me Hippie when I was a baby. He must have just known I was an old soul when I was born, or maybe he wanted me to be like him.  He was an extremely talented musician, who could play any instrument he picked up naturally, as well as a beautiful artist. His heart and soul were as beautiful as his music and art.

He taught me so much about life, the universe and how love is the most important thing in this world. His famous saying was, "It's All About The Love". When he passed away from cancer in 2008 I was only 22. Not only did I lose my brother, but my mentor and my friend. So this company is named in tribute to his memory.
